All in all my life has been pretty good. Wonderful wife (passed on many years ago) , children (three girls and one boy), Grandchildren (6 girls and two boys). Two wonderful grandaughters adopted from China. Great trips going to get them. Both about 1 year of age when I went with my daughter to adopt them (Two trips about one year apart).
I have a dregee in Electronics (vacuum tubes then) and in English (You would never know if you look at my spelling or read what I write!)
Retired for along time
I have worked at many jobs. On my own since I was about 15 years old. Worked setting up Brown And Sharp metal working machines. To young to work then but I lied about my age. (I still look older than I am?). Saved most of my money to go to college but I inlisted into the US Army in 1960 (I spent my spare time taking college classes). Nam era for 4 years (Remember the Bay Of pigs) so I ended up in Germany waiting for war to break out. Took more college classes in germany.
When I returned home I found a job (very hard to find jobs at that time) at Sun Electronics (They made automotive test equipment) an worked in their electrical department. I then ended up at Bruning. They sold drafting equipment, Diazo Copiers, and a new electrostatic copy machine (sort of like a Xerox at that time). I went to another division of the company and there I got to work with the NEW just released, Intel 4004 The World's First Single Chip Microprocessor (1971). At that time I was a supervisor of 5 engineers and we were designing test fixtures for (of all things) RTL (1960?) / DTL(1962?) and some TTL logic boards. Machine coding by hand.. What fun!
That lasted a few years and then I traveled the world repairing Printing equipment of all sorts.. The last machine I worked on was the Zeikon NV (A digital color press made in Belgium and I travled there MANY times) I now HATE traveling...
