Do we need to join SD assoc. and pay HALA license using USBwiz with SD?

As an OEM using your USBwiz chip in a product that has an SD card reader, do we need to obtain a HALA license with the SD association or is it covered by buying your chip and you are paying the license?

As far as we know, you do not have to but it is always good to contact them to be sure... especially that USBwiz uses the cards in SPI mode which is open
